  7. This application shows the dynamics of a symmetrical top with one point fixed spinning in a gravitational field.  The ratio of the moments of inertia of top can be changed as well as the top's initial conditions of motion and the strength of the gravitation field.

  9. The motion of the top can be viewed from the side or from above the top.  Click on the appropriate button in the "View" box.

  12. The application is used in a class on Classical Dynamic to illustrate the concepts developed in lectures on the dynamics of rigid bodies.
